Australian Victoria University Visits Nursing College

On the morning of 2 June, Fernando Scarmozzino, the associate dean of International Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science at Australian Victoria University, and Li Xiang, the director of projects office in China of Victoria University visited the Nursing College of Chongqing Medical University (CQMU). Yang Hong, the associate dean of the foreign affairs office of CQMU, Ruan Lily and Zhou Jianrong, the associate deans of the Nursing College welcomed the guests at the conference room of Nursing College.

Ruan Lily introduced the Nursing College’s education levels including master, bachelor, junior college students, advanced programs, short-term training classes, the education conceptions, research achievements in nursing, upper-class equipped lab center with 24 demonstration rooms, and internship practice faculties. She stressed on the international exchange with America, Canada, Australia, France and Thailand. Mr. Fernando Scannozzino presented to the Nursing College that Victoria University had 11 campuses around the country with 47151 students including 3845 international students. Its Nursing and Midwifery School is 40-minute driving away the main campus with over ten thousands nursing students. Its Nursing and Midwifery School specializes in education research, nursing skills’ cultivation for diabetes and cancers, which stimulates interests in the Nursing College at CQMU.

Afterwards, the two schools held a talk about teachers and students exchanges. The two schools agreed on 3 possibilities: 2 years +2 years program for undergraduates, 1 year +2 years program for junior colleges, preppies for studying nursing in Victoria University. At the ending of the talk, the two schools planned to send more specific information to each other for the coming talks.
